I did not make my booth fee.
Very slow show. Crowds weren't there and the weather didn't help. The woman next to me sold ice dyed scarfs, shirts, etc and did well. My friend who sells jewelry made $170 over booth fee. Others I talked to said sales were slow.
Second year I did this show. Last year it was 100 degrees and I made my booth fee, however the booth fee was only $115 because they cut it in half.

  • Thanks Geri!

  • This isn't really a starving artists show.  Amy puts no restrictions on the top price and anyone can discount whatever they want.  In contrast--Mt. Mary Starving Artists show in Milwaukee.  Nothing over $100, nothing.  People start lining up to get in at 5am and gates open at 10.  If you see something you like, you better buy it cuz it probably won't be there when you go back.  Yes, there is a $10 admission fee but it is for the college and it is well worth it.  Food prices are reasonable and there is tons of parking.  It is a frenetic atmosphere but everyone is in a good mood because you know you are getting great deals.  I am just waiting for the Sunday that the Packers play at noon so the crowd will thin out a little and you can get into the booths.  It is Wisconsin, after all!

  • Yeah I personally would not do a show where they emphasize how cheap it is. But maybe it depends on what type of work you do.

  • Seems like a horrible show name to me. A rebrand could help a little. Might get a few more people to show up.
