37th Annual Outdoor Art Show
Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Chautauqua
265 artists
Deadline: April 1
Artist fees: $25.00 application fee
$350.00 per 10' x 12' booth space
Admission: $8.00 per person, children 12 years & under are admitted free
In mid-August as many as 18,000 festival-goers will plan on enjoying a weekend of art, crafts, entertainment and gourmet food in Mount Gretna, PA. Where is Mt. Gretna, PA? Visit this link.
Every year, during the third weekend of August, this community of some 700 homes and cottages suddenly springs to life, welcoming 265 artists chosen through juried competition and 20,000 visitors who-by their presence acknowledge the role that art plays in their homes, hearts, and lives.
And every year, as thousands of art show patrons return, many others discover Mount Gretna for the first time. For everyone who comes, it is a
return to an earlier era: a time when neighbors greeted neighbors from their front porches, when going for ice cream meant going for a stroll rather than getting into an automobile, and when life itself pulsed at a rocking chair pace.Very nice things were said about Mt. This picture is actually across the street from the main art show in the field. It is more not so hand crafted, spices and nail files etc, but also nice crafts. I do this one every yr. Its 250.

we do it with our colorful pottery and its a good show. i think the stoneware potters do better tho! i think traditional work does better but i have many customers that know me from fl and live in jersey but rent cottages there(mt gretna) in summer. some spots can be difficult to set up on(hills) and do not pray for rain--mush! its very close to long's park area so.....very nice staff and volunteers! you might do well there geoff!

The show I do is in conjunction with the Mt. Gretna art show. I do August Craft Market. It is in the field across the street. Eastern Enterprises,Mt. Gretna Lake and Beach, PO 100 Mt. Gretna, Pa.17064
You have the oppertunity to sign up again for the next yr, at a reduced price, thus guareenting a spot.

Just stumbled across this thread (as I often do on this web site -- not sure I will ever comprehend the way it is organized.) The official Mt. Gretna Outdoor Art Show is a good show for many. It is well run. The staff is helpful and accommodating. The setting is lovely. The art is mostly fine art but a few bend the rules. The craft show across the street is certainly separate but many patrons attend both. And the patrons span a wide range despite the gate fee. There are many comfortable, affordable hotels and inns in the area. We are returning this year.
