Congratulations to each of the artists. I'm pleased with mine! Each of the awards is hand-made by a fabric artist and comes with a nice monetary award as well. None of this store bought stuff!
Yes, there seems to be a LOT of artists in this show coming out from CA. A) there are not a lot of shows happening in April there, B) They don't like the shows there, C) they are checking out AZ for migration purposes when CA slides off the map into tiny islands ;-)
The ribbons are the work of Arizona fiber artist Marian Crane, who has just completed her 6th series for the Tempe Festival of the Arts. She chooses a local theme for each festival and creates each ribbon by hand. They've become truly unique additions to the festival.
Congratulations, Brian. Well-deserved. I like your Arizona tshirt -- dressing for the crowd, I see. I believe those ribbons are made by Diane McMichael of ArtzyRibbons.com. They're all handmade and each one is different. Nice touch. It was interesting to me to see where the prizewinners came from, mostly West Coast, so I only recognized a few names but from those I can see you were in good company.

What an honor to not only win an award but to receive one of the one of a kind handmade awards. Congrats Brian.

Ah, so that is the reason I wasn't really seeing Diane's style in the ribbons. Brian's ribbon was not in her "palette."
