Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals
Comment by Gabriela Bryant on May 11, 2011 at 1:14pm For the Ladies who did this show last year...what did you think? Is it worth it? I am a jewelry artist and don't really have anything going on in July. I like the fact that it's a one-day only. Would you recommend it?
It was a hot miserable day and the cooking tent with grills of hamburgers / brats was right in front of my tent. The smoke kept blowing in my face and the horrid smell of carcasses cooking (Im not a meat eater!!!).
I have fine art and hand painted silk scarves, and it seemed to me that there were more craft oriented booths, lawn art, etc, from what I observed while heading to use the restroom. There were alot of families with small children walking around, but I didn't see them with many bags of purchases.
If you make jewelry, it might be a good place for you to go. Jewelry seems to fit in at most fairs these days. The lady that makes the dog leashes........you may do well also.
