Sausalito Art Festival was what I needed

Posted on September 13, 2016 at 9:30pm 5 Comments

I was very excited to get into the Sausalito arts festival. At least from my research this show was the show highest on my list. There were several bumps in my plans as I got ready and the stress I put on myself left me wiped out before I got started. I was going to have to learn everything a newbie learns at the one show my heart had always wanted to do. So how did I do?

Well first I want to thank Lucia Friedericy, her advice…

Big Bear Lake Art on the Lake Fine Art Festival---Not

Posted on August 29, 2015 at 2:00pm 27 Comments

Not a festival, not a happy place, not a fine art show...This was my first official show. It was small but smaller than expected. Matter of fact the promoter and another promoter are at odds because said promoter #2 was kicked off the team of Promoter#1. It seems the Fine artist of this show that got the memo moved over to Promoter #2's show. I had talked to promoter #2 and I was accepted but opt out of her show because she didn't want me to bring my nudes to the show. By the way most of my…

Introducing myself and posing some concerns

Posted on September 10, 2014 at 7:07pm 53 Comments

Hi my name is Kara and well I have slowly tried to enter this site and learn some things about art fairs, including whether I want to do them. I have been preparing myself to do them by going to any fair in my area for the last few years. I am just concerned to be honest. Maybe someone out there can direct me down the right rabbit hole cause I'm not making much progress on my own.

I am a very sensitive person, and to be quite honest it makes me sick to my stomach when people…

Hi Kara, welcome to Art Fair Insiders!  I'm impressed not only by your work but also by your website, good job!  It looks like you're relatively new to the business of art fairs but what about other venues?  This is a great place to get you on your way, lots of good networking, show critiques and inspiration...wishing you the best of luck!

Welcome to Art Fair Insiders, Kara.  I'm pleased to see you here and look forward to having you as part of our community.

When you have a chance, please stop by the "Discussions" area to introduce yourself to the rest of us. We all look forward to your participation here. Also, visit the "member map" and add your location. We have a lot to offer one another, experienced and newbie alike. Let's make this a dynamic site!

Many topics have already been discussed here before you joined us. You might like to try a search of your topic before you post your question. Just put your topic, canopy tents, jurying fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, etc, into the search bar at the top of the right side of the page. You might be surprised that someone has already asked your question.

We also ask that all new members take a few moments of their time to read the code of conduct. You will find it at http://www.artfairinsiders.com/page/code-of-conduct. There are a few guidelines that all members will need to follow because , as in any social community, we all need to work together.

Best wishes, Connie Mettler

p.s. The best way to make this system easy to use is to click on the "Follow-Email me" link at the bottom of each Forum discussion that interests you. That way the system will email you automatically whenever anyone responds. It's a great time-saver.
