It's like a roller-coaster, up, then down, and betwixt the stomach gets all queasy. It's jury time. The multiple $30-$40 apps and the sound of hard earned money being flushed to the silent abyss for judgment, yea or nay. The nays come without comment or score, just a cold encouragement to try again next year. Like Lucy pulling the ball away at the last moment from Charlie Brown ..Whoosh.. Thump!

We hear a good deal about the national shows and I have written a few reviews this year, but there are a good many smaller local shows in our communities that have long successful histories. If you follow this blog, you probably figured out that Boston Mills ArtFest has happened. ArtFest is a two weekend event that happens on the last weekend in June (a party night and 2 show days) and the 1st weekend in July (a party night and 3 show days). Somehow I missed your request earlier. The Decatur show has been OK. The best thing to do is go ahead with it and see what happens with your work. As I've often put it, it's a frog worth kissing. While you're there check out the various areas for a space request the next time you apply. They may or may not pay attention. I think the street is the best selling location but you have to set up that morning.
I'd give it at least two years in a row before deciding whether it's your kind of crowd.
