Closing our old merchant account

Like many, we have gone over to using Square for our credit card processing. Our merchant contract expired on May 20th so we took all the steps in advance to close it out without penalty. It amazed me that during several calls and emails not one person with the merchant service asked what we were using now instead or made any attempt to retain us. Just like to pass on a little idea I heard this past weekend at Mayfaire By the Lake Art Festival. Our neighbor was Steve Vaughn? We were talking about upcoming shows and got on the subject of the Alexandria, VA show with H.A.E. Steve mentioned that he uses the Amtrak auto train to travel from Florida to Lorton, VA to do the show. He has a full size van and it goes on the train with him so he does not have to drive much as Lorton is close to the show site. I did some price checking and for 2… Continue

QR Codes

I saw some mentions of QR codes in another posting. We have the QR codes for our website, Facebook & Twitter on the back of our business cards. I enlarged the images from the card and laminated it to use as a small sign on the booth wall at shows. Even put some Velcro on the back so I can just slap it up on the pro panel wall. You would be surprised at how many people scan it with their phones. I been thinking of making more use of QR codes by maybe placing one on each piece so patrons… Continue
