Sandra J. Atkins-Moran replied to Allan Leon's discussion Whether to allow artwork photos or not
"Thank you, Beth.  All the artist is asking for is respect for the act of making a living and the right to have his/her ideas be purchased rather than appropriated."

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran replied to Allan Leon's discussion Whether to allow artwork photos or not
"Whether the person wold ever have bought your artwork or whether the print is decent is aside from the point.  It's theft.  Why make it easier for you to be robbed?"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran replied to Allan Leon's discussion Whether to allow artwork photos or not
"Up to you, but your images are proprietary.  If you let someone photograph your work, you run the risk of having that person run off a print for himself, thereby cheating you of your price.  Paranoid, perhaps, but the technology now is…"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran replied to Jill Dunn's discussion Perplexed About A Wait List
"I remember a while back being  wait listed for an Amy Amdur show.  I called to find out where I was on the wait list and was told to just come on up and wait around the day of the show.  It's a 1500 mile drive for me!  No…"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran replied to Jill Dunn's discussion Perplexed About A Wait List
"Those extended application things seem to me to be just one more effort by the shows to gather in some extra money .  Perhaps I'm just being paranoid, but it seems as though there are so many more ways to gouge the artist than there used…"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran commented on Connie Mettler's blog post Why are these booth fees so high?
"With regard to the insurance expense at shows: I think it's interesting that a number of shows now require the artist to provide his own liability insurance  with the show as the beneficiary!  An interesting wrinkle.  And yet…"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran replied to peter brown's discussion Big vs little update
"You really aren't a very happy camper, are you?  No one likes the jury fees, but they are a part of the cost of doing business.  If you don't like it, go do something else.  It's is part of the way the game is…"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran replied to Connie Mettler's discussion Is creating art killing you?
"Way back when I started as a batik artist 45 years ago, no one knew anything about chemical hazards and I confess to having been careless, along with other artists I knew.  I dyed without gloves (bleached my hands to clean them up before shows)…"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran replied to Lyra y Jose's discussion Craft Producers Shows-why the high entry fee?
"My guess would be because they think they can get it.  Often shows can get away with the whopping booth fees because they have  reputation for high sales (or are coasting on their old reputations-witness the Ann Arbor fairs).  There…"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran commented on Joel Lockridge's blog post Ever had another artist screw you over?
"F--him.  Most artists are really nice and helpful and supportive.  This is a large family, and as in many families there are some dysfunctional members.  Ignore him and continue to support your daughter' life arc; most of us are…"

Sandra J. Atkins-Moran commented on Joel Lockridge's blog post Ever had another artist screw you over?
"Must be related to the #$$^%^&^%#$# tall photographer who had some floor mats that I'd loaned to the guy in his booth the previous week.  At the end of the show, I went to retrieve them and he was still sitting on them.  After my…"
