Ditto...I have heavy iron grates to hang my paintings on so figure I will just put my tent on shims in front and keep my fingers crossed. Anyone have recommendations?

Edwin Schmidt replied to Renee Froerer's discussion 'Vendor's licenses in Ohio'
Ohio now has a single transient license that is good for all counties. Similar to NY. I don't believe there is a charge for the license or is minimal upon issuance. Each county may have a different tax rate but it is all on the form. There is…

Room share for Uptown Aug 5-8 2010

I decided to splurge and book a room at the Sheraton in Minneapolis for the Uptown show. I have two queen size beds. The rate was $100/night with tax. So if anyone is willing to split it down the middle, I'd be happy to.You can contact me here or at renee@reneefroerer.comSee More

Thanks Larry...I did end up going with Three Rivers. I love Pittsburgh, so I figured it would be fun to spend a few days there.

Larry Berman replied to Renee Froerer's discussion 'How to decide between shows'
I've never done the Guild shows other than Ann Arbor but given a choice, I would do Three Rivers for either the five or six day periods. I live in Pittsburgh but that's not the reason. I just think it has more potential than Wells…

I got into the Crocker Park show, which would be the cheapest BUT I already have my work around town and I think much of the crowd is likely to have already seen my work so thought I might try a new city instead.

Normally the answer is whichever show you get into. But seeing that you've gotten into three, you need to take other factors into consideration. Don't worry about being black listed for canceling a show. If that were the case, none of us…

How to decide between shows

Hi everyone-Thanks for all your great responses. I hope after this year, when I've got some experience under my belt, I can contribute a bit more! One question, when you get into a show the same weekend how do you choose?Specifically, I got into Wells St in Chi-town, Three Rivers in Pittsburgh, and one near my house in Cleveland.Cleveland would be cheaper, but I would love to go to a new city. Does anyone have feedback on Wells St vs. Three Rivers. It seems like Three Rivers has more positive…See More

You won't be surprised to hear me say "go to the show close to home." Wells Street is not a favorite of mine. The organizers have no idea of what an art fair is or the artist's life. They just count the dollars they take in and…

I've heard the same, but it can depend on where you are located. closer to the end near Old town can be good, the other end not so good. The middle is a bear to set up.. the whole show is a beer fest on top, is what I've heard also.. but…

Lakewood, Ohio 2009. Made the most money, my booth was a block away from my house. Great crowd, young and hip.
