John, that's a great schedule, you should do very well.  I've found the shows to be getting better in general here in Florida if you have the right work.  Looking forward to seeing your new work.  BTW, I still have your…

Hi R. C., my sister-in-law saw your work at the Plaza -- it was her favorite of everything and is planning on purchasing more for Christmas presents. Hope it was a good show for you.

Larry, in the "projection" jury, they also have laptops in front of them, so that is the only place they might see a title or a description, is that right?

Thanks Robert, I have been tempted to try writing in the black area, but I use many verticle images and it just doesn't look right.  Larry, on your example of the "monitor" jury, where it says "statement" is that there…

Connie, where do jurors see this information during a Zapp session?

Yes, good to share with all, but did you ever find out why the boat wouldn't start?

Nice write-up, Bill.  Good photos too.  Glad you did so well and body-work on your van to boot!

Sorry, I re-did the math.  This booth has seen me through about 800 shows.

And, don't forget, you can still get the best one of all; Craft Hut.  Mine is 21 years old and I just bought my third top for it.  Has withstood more than 1500 shows from Florida to California and on to Vermont and back.

Bill, you know the rules.  No people in your booth shot!   He just hangs the T-shirt on the wall.  His sentiments to the jurors of that particular show.  And he wonders why he's been rejected lately.

I guess there are only 3 of us on this particular blog.  Good thing!

New Year's Weekend at Naples

Posted on January 3, 2011 at 1:44pm 3 Comments

I did this show for the first time in 6 or 7 years.  Back then it was run by Howard Alan.  I quit doing Howard's shows then for various reasons, not the least of which was his $15 jury fee for every show you wanted to line up.  When you do 4 shows a year with a promoter for 10 years, why do you have to pay for him (or her) to look over your work to see if you're up to snuff?

Here Comes a NEW YEAR!

Posted on December 28, 2010 at 11:41am 7 Comments

2010 was a rough and tumble year for many of us.  Personally, I did 41 shows.  Way too many!  But, hey, "when times are tough... " you know the rest.  In my prime, I did 30 to 35 shows a year and made a decent middle-class living traveling and selling my photographs. …

Kalamazoo Art Fair

Posted on June 8, 2010 at 1:19pm 7 Comments

This is a one-day show sponsored by the Kalamazoo Art Center. It is held in and around Bronson Park and artists with booth locations on the interior can drive in on the sidewalks for set-up. This was my 5th. year in a row doing the show and it has become a real gem and a pleasure to do since they offered the Friday set-up.

This was the second time they suggested we be open on Friday evening. Last year we arrived in the late afternoon and were busy setting up while patrons were…

Tarpon Springs: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Got a call this morning from Nels. "Why don't you write up the show, I left early Sunday morning".

I remember hearing that at the show Sunday morning, and saying to my wife, "There's a smart man!" The weather report was as bleak as it could be. We would be hit by rain around 1 PM and it would last all afternoon.…

Deerfield Beach

Posted on February 4, 2010 at 10:59am 2 Comments

Deerfield Beach is located just south of Boca Raton. It was held on January 30 & 31. The show has been around a long time and has moved several times in an attempt to find an audience.

It is now held right on the street along the beach running for 3 or 4 blocks. Saturday was a beautiful day and the beach-goers were out in large numbers. Many in swimsuits and flip-flops. Wallets were left behind. I covered expenses but overheard my… Continue

thanks for your input on this site, R.C. I know people enjoy reading your ideas, whether we can get them to participate more is another question.

One more question. Can those panels hold say about 30 lb each?

I was looking at the panels you have in the classified section. Is the carpeting removable?

way to go. How many are new ones taken this year versus oldies that you had for a long while. Don't make me have to go back into my portfolio--because i will cream you--just kidding-do not take all this seriously--good to see you wasting your time here--by the way, yesterday at Belair G.C. i came 6 inches away from an ace on a 190-yard hole. I plan on getting one today. I might even put little people around the hole and photo ithmmm, I wonder if anybody does that-tags like Teger
