Painting after months work feel down - now torn.

I have a painting with months of effort into it. Not 40hours weekly, but it has been an ongoing project for me for months. Last night it sat by my window, it was windy, it got blown down , and face down hit the corner of a filing cabinet and tore a 2" gash through the canvas.Ive never torn a painting I didnt mean to kill. This was a good piece though and frankly - is it even salvageable to sell? If it cuts the cost in half this painting is done.Anyone have good advice on mending a torn canvas…See More

Good, Pete. I hope that works. Once an art fair, before I was opening a bottle of nail polish and really pressing hard and it broke in two and really gashed my finger. Luckily my friend was along who is a vet tech and she knew what to do..just washed it and bandaged it tightly. It was very scary but even the scar is gone now. The moral: don't be doing your nails before the show.
