Pat Falk commented on Jim Parker's blog post ArtBirmingham -- a slow start and a slow finish
"Enjoyed your video Jim and the added music.  I sometimes wish someone would do a study and count the number of people who walk past ones booth, come into ones booth, and actually purchase a piece of art.  Would be interesting!"

Pat Falk commented on Nels Johnson's blog post THE END OF THE FLORIDA SPRING SHOW SEASON--NOT A ROSEY PICTURE

Pat Falk commented on Greg Little's blog post Wholesale to Galleries
"I have consigned in the past but most were not good experiences for a variety of reasons.  For me, wholesale worked far better as once you hand over your art you are done with it.  No return of shop worn pieces.   "

What canopy should I purchase?

Posted on July 19, 2010 at 11:27am 10 Comments

My 14 year old Lite Dome sustained considerable damage in a severe storm this Sat. All 4 corner pieces were broken off and many other frame parts were bent. Now my dilema, as many of you have probably faced at some time in your art fair career, is - do I spend megabucks on replacement parts or do I purchase a new tent??? I know the weaknesses of my Lite Dome in wind. I do not have the lower stabilizing bars or the upper corner stabilizers. Also I wonder about the durability of the plastic or… Continue

June 26-27, Park Point Art Fair, Duluth, MN

This was my first time at this show. Thought it was a good idea to go north after the very hot weather south. Park Point is a long penninsula from Duluth into Lake Superior and you must go over a lift bridge to get there. The show location is a park at the end of the penninsula. This show has a Friday setup which was great. We could drive right up to our booth and even park behind it all weekend. Sat was very cool and cloudy with a breeze coming off the lake. The crowd was good early, but one… Continue

This past Sunday while our booth was very busy, I caught a gray-haired woman with a pair of earrings in her hands, and as I approached her she pretended to be putting them back on our panels. Then I noticed 2 other pieces missing, a pink bracelet and matching earrings, from the same panel. She did not have them in her hands. I quickly looked around to see if anyone else had them or if my husband had removed them from the panels for a customer. The gray-haired woman said to me, "Is something… Continue
