Mark Zirinsky commented on S Brian Berkun's blog post Saint Louis Art Fair Jury Results
"Yes, very insightful to see the results. I was fascinated to see both the quality of the entries, and how low my score was with this jury. In a show a few months ago, of similar caliber as St Louis,  the jury in full came by as a group to my…"

Mark Zirinsky commented on Joseph E Mongan's blog post Ann Arbor State Street Art Fair
"I am doing the original show (Street) as well this year, please stop by and say hello. And the good news, they won best art fair poster from Sunshine Artist Magazine, which will help the visitors. The  organizer is very easy to work…"

Mark Zirinsky replied to Allan Leon's discussion Whether to allow artwork photos or not
"A good question. yes, I have. When asked not to take a picture, I have had some responses similar to Larry's, others where they decided, after walking off, that they had to have it, and came back and bought it. And to larry's point, if…"

Mark Zirinsky replied to Ryan Moyer's discussion Jackson vs. Boulder (Pearl Street)
"Boulder can be a good show, a minor amount of junk, mostly superb artists. Setup on the mall is tough - if you are there at 6:00 am, you are late! It takes me about 4 hours to set up my booth, hang work, and drink coffee. Then, at times during the…"

Mark Zirinsky replied to Allan Leon's discussion Whether to allow artwork photos or not
"Yes, in today's world people can be 'experiencing' things by photographing them; I will let someone take a photo if they need to show their significant other the work, and they understand that the photo is only for that purpose. To…"

"I learned my intellectual property methods in the computer and medical fields. Haven't had to do this YET in the art world, but that is simply a matter of time While I am not an attorney, and maybe would like to play one on TV, what I do: - I…"

Mark Zirinsky commented on Larry Berman's blog post I scored a "1" at the Krasl Jury
"Not at all Julia. I think, in perhaps a tangential way, everyone here is speaking in support of your show. They know about it, dream about it, think of what pieces they would show, what wold sell, the ones they want to display for all to see even if…"

Mark Zirinsky commented on Larry Berman's blog post I scored a "1" at the Krasl Jury
"Point well taken Larry, I had not thought of that. You have about 10 seconds. Curiously, when customers are walking by my booth at a show, you have about the same amount of time to capture their initial interest. Varies a bit by how bust the show is."

Mark Zirinsky commented on Larry Berman's blog post I scored a "1" at the Krasl Jury
"I attended cherry creek's trial jury last fall. It was very educational for me. By far my largest impression was how careful, objective and articulate the jurors were in response to the work that they viewed. I will go so far as to say that…"

David S. Hoornstra replied to Mark Zirinsky's discussion to post/not to post copyright notices in booth
"As an experienced graphic designer I have had reason to find out what resolution makes a good print. There are some pretty nice cameras out there but the possibility of someone getting a good enough image with a hand-held camera in an outdoor booth…"

Chris Gug replied to Mark Zirinsky's discussion to post/not to post copyright notices in booth

Barrie Lynn Bryant replied to Mark Zirinsky's discussion to post/not to post copyright notices in booth

What are the best things about art fairs
You see the reactions of people to your work. Ideas start tumbling out of other artist's mouth. People look, laugh, cry,
Best show ever and why
Cherry Creek Stanley show. My first show, sold my highest price piece with 5 minutes of show opening
Worst show ever and why
Loveland Sculpture festival. Almost no people attended the show; it was very disheartening.

What is one fun fact about yourself?
As an artist, I recognize that my business plan (make pretty things at great time and expense) is for the birds; and that is ok. The reactions of customers, when they squint, and their eyes go wide when the recognize what they are looking at, that makes it all worth while.
