Julie Blichmann replied to Chris Marx's discussion Opinion on only selling originals vs. giclees and prints
"Hi Chris, Actually I have a Canon Pixma Pro 9500 Mark II. It prints beautiful images, but the key is also making sure I use proper color profiles for the paper I'm using. Each paper manufacturer typically provides color profiles on their…"

Julie Blichmann replied to Chris Marx's discussion Opinion on only selling originals vs. giclees and prints
"Terri, Prints from inkjet printers using pigment ink (not dye based) are considered "Giclee". Epson uses pigment ink, and one of my Canons is a pigment ink printer. It will print a maximum size of 13x19 (borderless), and the average…"

Julie Blichmann replied to Chris Marx's discussion Opinion on only selling originals vs. giclees and prints
"While I can't add any input on the original painting versus print issue, I can add to the photograping and printing side of the issue. On Photographing: If your camera has a setting for RAW, it's best to shoot your images in that mode. A…"

Julie Blichmann commented on S. Michelle Babcock's blog post Art Westport and Hidden Glenn two Kansas City Shows

Julie...I am anxious to see your ArtfulVision 'studio' space! I'm going to spend my break from painting looking at your website. Photography is very much outside my area of expertise, but your equipment sounds intriguing. I AM a fossil-graphic artist, so printing pulls me back even though I am not going to be using it...I'm just not enamored with giclees even though they are definitely a plus if you are doing a well-rounded presentation. The additional level of pricing is helpful...but if you want to 'feel' the texture and bonding of pigment to paper or canvas there's no substitute for a one-of-a-kind.

Julie...I have read your input and though I haven't 'got back to you' (something I try very hard to avoid saying...sounds too much like a put off)...I appreciate your assessment of Art in the Park and all the other reviews of the KC area shows. All have been on my 'list' of to-do's over the years but I haven't made it yet. I think you are going about things in a pretty good way...I personally don't like 1-day shows. I'm usually too far away from home and have to spend two nights since I've advanced in age. I find visitors frequently have too many events to cover in a single day in the larger areas. Also, your comparisons are more obvious if you've done a year of one's before adding longer ones. Of course what you are selling makes a difference, too.

Julie...Hi, again...How was Art in the Park? My son lives in KC and I wanted to do it because we could just have a good 'day out' with the show and then next day....unfortunately last year I had a show conflict and this year the weather kept me from applying.
