Brookdale Park and Westfield Armory – Two Fine Rose Squared Shows in N.J.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 1:43pm 4 Comments

These two shows are among the top 3 shows I have had the pleasure to do this year.   Here are some of the reasons I like Brookdale Park in Montclair, NJ.  Oct. 15 & 16

  1. Easy set up and breakdown.  You can set up on Friday and leave your vehicle behind your booth.
  2. Space is provided for RV’s for those who like to sleep near their booth.
  3. There is one jury fee no matter how many shows you do with them and you only need to give them a deposit for your…

Wheaton Arts – One terrific show in New Jersey

Posted on December 2, 2011 at 12:14pm 7 Comments

This show gets better every year.   It was my best in more ways than one.

  1. Set up on Friday, is easy and care free or set up on Saturday, if you like.
  2. You can choose your booth setting, outside, under a pavilion tent, or inside the conference center.
  3. Extra space for those who choose to demonstrate.
  4. Quality is top notch.  No buy/sell, no painted wood, no country, no s*** on a stick.  Just beautifully made fine craft and fine…

Brookdale Fine Art & Craft Festival & Wheaton Arts - 2 record breaking shows in N.J.

Posted on October 17, 2011 at 9:28am 5 Comments

I have no time, presently, to write the full review that these two wonderful shows deserve, but I will as soon as I attempt to replace much needed work for my next show this weekend.  Right now, all I can say is very easy set up and breakdown, absolutely the best promoters, absolutely, no buy/sell, only top quality artists and craftsmen, and an increasing number of customers that love my work and appreciate quality.  I saw many bags on the arms of a steady stream of customers.  The show was…

Word of caution if using a credit card swiping device that plugs into your I Pad.

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 9:26am 13 Comments

While swiping a credit card using the Square, my I Pad crashed leaving me with a connection error message.  I swiped the card again and got the same message.  My customer decided to pay cash so I cleared the transaction.

I received a call from the customer later that evening.  She was charged twice for the transaction even though it was never completed.  This was a debit card so the money was removed from her bank account.  Luckily, it was only $75 but still enough that she couldn't…
