Has anyone gotten info from the Midland Summer Art Fair this year? I was there last year and was invited back (with the promise of a letter in February), but haven't heard anything from them. They…Continue

Co-insurance?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Greg Little Jun 14, 2017. 5 Replies

I've been asked to provide proof of insurance (no big deal) but also proof of that the organizing body is co-insured. Anyone have an idea how to do that? I have ACT, btw.Thanks.Continue

Photogs: How do you respond?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Donald Golden May 8, 2017. 16 Replies

My season starts in three weeks but I'm already dreading the comment I know I'll hear way too often: "You must have a really good camera."How do you respond? I don't want to be a smart-as, of course.…Continue

Hello ... and a question

Started this discussion. Last reply by Connie Mettler Apr 21, 2017. 4 Replies

Just joined Art Fair Insiders after my first - somewhat uneven - first year. I'm a photographer and learned a ton about what sells, what doesn't and, interestingly, what my own style was. It was a…Continue

Fletcher Dean replied to DeBorah Beaty's discussion Lighting question
"lighting details earlier are right on track. I use two, hooked together, and bungee them to the front of my tent so the light shines back in.  Of course, you also need power. Lots of possible solutions but I use a deep marine battery - heavy…"

Fletcher Dean replied to Jill Dunn's discussion Holland, Michigan Tulip Time Artisan and Craft Festival
"I know I posted a review earlier but can't find it. Want to confirm what Jim has here. This was a craft show with very little art. And it was strictly cash and carry. If they could spend the $20 in their pocket, they might. But I took only two…"

Fletcher Dean replied to Jill Dunn's discussion Tulip Time Art Fair-Holland, Michigan
"It was strictly a cash-and-carry crowd. I'll do a show review later but I was surprised that the show was so much craft and so little art. I barely covered expenses, to be honest. Of the three tents around me, two said they wouldn't bother…"

Fletcher Dean replied to Jill Dunn's discussion Tulip Time Art Fair-Holland, Michigan
"Hi Jill. I'll be there. It will be my first time and I'm not sure what to expect. Looks like set up could be difficult. You have any experience there? And, yes, looks like highs in the upper 50s (which is a lot better than it has been in…"

Midland Summer Art Fair?

Has anyone gotten info from the Midland Summer Art Fair this year? I was there last year and was invited back (with the promise of a letter in February), but haven't heard anything from them. They don't return phone calls or emails and they pushed their application date back at least a month. Never a good sign. Anyone with insight? See More
