"Actually it was nice of you to point out the Intuit fees. I  had not really paid attention to it as I am behind on my bookkeeping.  I have the Intuit as a backup device and for some shows I wanted to try it out on sales.  I did though…"

Christine Hauber replied to Peter William Katke's discussion Intuit Go Payment & my BIG MISTAKE.
"I use the Square and have the Intuit as a backup reader.  I recently had Merchant Services with a monthly flat fee of $60.  There I was charged the extra amounts for special cards so after years of having this amount to pay, I know that…"

Geoff Coe replied to Christine Hauber's discussion Washing the Canopy Top
"I doubt it would hurt, but have never tried it.  I DID, just today, use a power washer (free, from my condo association) and it worked pretty well too.  You can rent power washers from a rental place for about $25 a day, I think."

Washing the Canopy Top

I am wondering if anyone has washed their canopy top in an industrial washing machine?  I recently washed my mesh walls and they turned out very decent. Sure beat Flourish's idea of washing in the bathtub (my back would not have handled that well)Now I would like to throw the Trimline top in a washing machine using Cold water.  (I have spread it out on the grass in the past to wash, but I now live in the high desert and all we have is dirt and stickers on the ground) See More

Christine Hauber replied to Luke Eng's discussion How much to sell my Flourish Trimline Canopy for?
"How many shows and years did you use it?  I can see you getting $2500 for it if it is less then 2yrs old and in very good condition.  Older then that, take at least an additional $200 off per year of age."

Christine Hauber commented on Leslie Jensen's blog post Sausalito: This is it!
"It is unfortunate that the food/drink lines were so long. Especially if you spent the huge amount to get a ticket for your partner.  Artists like to eat and the shows should be prepared for this...especially shows with booth fees and extra food…"

Christine Hauber commented on teresa wooden's blog post Art Fairs a Workable Part of an Artist's Marketing Plan Anymore??

Christine Hauber replied to Jennifer Donald's discussion Mesh panel covers not by Flourish
"But how do you account for the velcro straps on the sides as well?  I am not imagining how a slip cover design would work since the Flourish mesh panels have the clips at the top and bottom and the set of velcro straps along the sides.  I…"

Christine Hauber replied to Tim McLaughlin's discussion I will be doing my 1st Art show this month. How important is having a way to process credit cards? And what recommendations do you have, I have an I phone does that work with an app?
"I have a Square and an Intuit GoPayment.  I got the Intuit as a backup to the Square and I am glad I did.  It was either the Square or Verizon service, but during one of my sales this last weekend, the Square said "square is currently…"

What are the best things about art fairs
Being around other artists
Best show ever and why
Des Moines. It was my first and I had no idea what to expect so it made it exciting.
Worst show ever and why
Show in Kansas when it rained for two days before and during setup. The grass was a huge mud puddle. We were sent into a basement because of tornados. Sales were horrible. My RV got stuck in mud. etc etc. I am sure it is a good show when mother natures is nice.
Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.
I have never left a show early. I stick it out since that is what my contract says.
