Welcome Sandy to the group - glad to have you aboard!  Do you have a web site for your paintings, would love to see some of your work.   How can we help to inspire you, and what type of printing are you talking about - giclee or other?

I'm sorry if I've posted twice -- brand new to this group.  I found Art Fair Insiders by accident and love it for information on art show equipment.  I'm in California and have painted in watercolors over 20 years. …

Leslie, welcome to the Watercolorist group.  This is a really great watercolor, at first I thought it was a photo - great work, you are very talented!  I think I've got you beat, it's taken me 3 years to get the guts up to paint…

I have a commissioned watercolor on the board and sketches for several spontaneous titles that have bubbled up over the past month or so : Waiting impatiently in the wings.  Unlike some artist friends, I never have more than one painting in…

What's new with your watercolor plans or paintings for 2011?

Hello Everybody,Pretty quiet....please enter discussion, post questions, or talk about your latest painting or one in progresss! I've just started a Grand Canyon painting.  At first it looked fairly easy....but now that I'm looking at the Canyon wall details (this is a HUGE painting) and trying to get the perspective right on the meandering river was a real challenge.  It's 98% done (drawing) and next week I hope to actually start painting it.  It's quite daunting.....but I won't let that stop…See More

Great comments all, and Joseph I agree with your comments 110%. Just one questions - those that are having some success at shows - do we know what and why?  I see that B & W is "hot" right now.

What are the best things about art fairs
Talent, and the variety of art, and meeting new people!
Best show ever and why
Octagon Art Fair was my first Juried Art Fair, felt honored to have been able to enter and get in, stiff competition!
Worst show ever and why
Arts Weekend Studio Tour (Oct 2002) - we who didn't have open studios were put into the hallways of an old mill. Terrible lighting and didn't sell anything.
Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.
A photographer I met at an art fair, who's card I can't find now

Art Fair Disaster

Posted on November 16, 2009 at 11:31am 0 Comments

The Sun City Artists Art Fair (in Peoria Az) this last Friday and Saturday was a huge loss.

Little traffic, poor lighting, and almost no sales. I personally only sold 4 greeting cards and didn't even cover my table entry. But I did better than some others who sold nothing at all! Many commented on how nice my display looked and how good my work is, but we were there to sell not show, so I took their comments as a positive but felt really down when I didn't sell larger… Continue

Ah, the Catzzz! Yes, favorites of mine, since I can't have any ---the other member of the household doesn't like them! I enjoy painting and drawing my sons 'kid' (Yoda is a beautiful Himalayan with all the pep and ginger that my beloved Siamese had!). Of course my Golden Retriever uses most of my spare time and accompanies me on my nature walks where he poses with pleasure!

What wonderful memories you can treasure Diane and it's so good that you took that photo, what a beautiful place. We also used to live on a small lake before our 4 girls left home..and we also downsized...so I can so relate!

Have a great week!

Thank you, that is a photo taken on the last day at my parents cottage, before they moved to a smaller home. Our family spent many a happy day on that dock, staring at that beautiful lake, so that photo always makes me happy!
