Just got home yesterday, as we took a week off to get back to Florida very leisurely.  Since I don't see another report on it, here's mine.

Those of us who have done shows for years, have heard many comments from the public regarding our art.  If you survive the system, you quickly develop a thick skin.  As a photographer, it is not uncommon to hear things like, 'Ive got a shot just like that at home', when you know it took you 25 trips to the same site, or 50 shots from different angles just to capture that special image.  At Ft Worth I heard one I hadn't heard before.  A young (20's) man had lifted up his iPhone and was about…

St Louis Art Fair

Show takes place on the streets of downtown Clayton, a suburb of St Louis. Set up is Friday starting at 11AM. Show is set up on two parallel streets and one cross street. Artists are set up down the middle, back to back. We have about 3 feet on the sides and in the rear, a very comfortable set up. No bad spots, as the customers walk the whole show. Total number of artists is about 170. Competition for this show is fierce, and the quality of the art is truly amazing. At the awards breakfast… Continue

Santa Fe College Spring Arts Festival, Gainesville Fl

Since I don't see anyone has posted on this (John where are you?), here goes...



Show is held in downtown area of Gainesville, up and down approximately 7 city blocks, somewhere in the neighborhood of 225 artists ( I think), sponsored by Santa Fe College. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and provide breakfast on Sat and a nice dinner on Sat night. Quality is pretty good, and once was the top art event in G'ville. Notice I said 'once', more on that later.

Art Fest Ft Myers - lots of folks, few bags, no award $$...

Art Fest in Ft Myers took place this past weekend along the riverfront in downtown Ft Myers. The downtown redevelopment agency has done an incredible job with the downtown here. I remember about 12 years ago, the area was a dump, but it looks fantastic now.



Set up was Friday and it was scheduled in different time slots depending on your booth number. There was supposed to have been a VIP section of the show open Friday night for the muckety-mucks who paid extra $$ for early shopping… Continue

Like so many, Artigras was not good for us!!! We found the volunteers rude. Interestingly,the crowds did not seem sophisticated. We are back home in GA now. Will head back to FL for Bonita Springs, a H.A. show in Key Biscayne and then to the new Downtown Naples show. Mike and I really love doing the shows, travelling and meeting great folks along the way.....The downside is that we HAVE to make money! We did well at Ft Myers but the others were terrible!! I don't understand...Delete Comment
