What a great show!  The best I've seen in a long time, and that seemed to be what I heard many others saying.  The weather was cool and perfect, and the crowds kept coming and buying!  The energy…Continue

First show ever
Dania Art Festival. It was a very small local event, and i was surprised that I sold $1200 in the first 3 hours!
What is your website?

What are the best things about art fairs
Meeting nice people from everywhere, and having people appreciate my arts.
Best show ever and why
Being invited to be one of the 40 demonstrating artsits, for the month of October at Dollywood in Pigoen Forge Tenneesee! It was a great experience and the hospitality was fantastic. It will be repeated October 2010
Worst show ever and why
There have been several....no advertising, terrible locations, bad weather. Some of our oceanfront shows can have extremly strong winds, and be very difficult. The beach shows also draw many "lookers" in bathingsuits with no wallets.

Plantation Art in the Park (Florida)

Posted on November 16, 2010 at 10:00pm 7 Comments

I participated in this show for the second time. It is held in a beautiful park in Ft. Lauderdale and the weather was perfect. Load in and out is very difficult, having to dolly in on cobblestones. There were no working lights in the park so we had to load out in the dark, causing some safety issues.

I never saw the judges and was shocked at the prizes ($) awarded to buy/sell, while obvious one of a kind art was ignored. No one I spoke with saw anyone judging. No…

Yellow Daisy (Atlanta)

Posted on September 12, 2010 at 10:54pm 1 Comment

I just finished doing my second Yellow Daisy Festival. Last year was great, this year was just hard work, and I didn't do nearly as well, with a much better location and new displays. There was a lot of buy/sell.....again, after the show committee promised to stop allowing it in!

I happened to win the drawing for the"Grand Prize"......which allows the winner not to have to jury into next year's show. I thank God that I didn't say something I would…

Marietta Ga. September 4-6th

I did this show for the second time and was once again impressed with the smooth set up, tear down, and the way it was run. A call for a booth sitter,, and within two minutes, one was there. This show was a joy to do, and I look forward to doing it again.

My proceeds were off last year by $600, but given the economy, it was a good show. The quality of the artists was…

South Miami Rotary Art Festival

Posted on March 2, 2010 at 8:44am 2 Comments

This was my first time doing this event and I expected it to be equal to the South Miami Art Festival held in the same location in November. It was not! I was placed next to a charming fellow and his "Furry Puppet Farm" complete with the puppet outhouse. The show was non-stop and the kids loved it too much so the walkway was blocked much of the time. This was more of a family-kids event than an Art Show.....

The proceeds were very disappointing compared to the November show.

Thanks for all your contributions, Andrea. I'm thinking we should line up all these competent women and hold a tent-putting-up competition. Love to meet you some day.

Andrea, did I meet you at So. Miami in November and you told me about the Christmas Show in West Dade?

Either way, I will stop by your booth in South Miami later this month.
