Of course you will need to have some inventory to sell at shows, but I would say even more importantly would be to attend some of the shows that you are thinking of applying to the year before. Since you're moving to a new area and most of the application deadlines for summer shows have past, I would just check out the shows in the new area - talk to the artists there - Introduce yourself to the show chairperson . This has been a wonderful ride so far for me and each year I set new goals as I've learned what does and doesn't work.

Welcome to the site, This is a great place to connect and network with like minded artists throughout the country.
This is also a great place to get information on how to get started in the "show business" - many people on the site have been doing it for 30+ plus years. Go to the discussion board and veiw previously posted topics or if you don't see what you're looking for ask a question!
