Art Fair Insiders

Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals

It would be great to see which shows in common MN/WI artists are doing. After meeting on AFI, it would be nice to say hello in person. I'll share a link to my summer shows--it's mostly complete,  still waiting for one waitlist (Krasl and I'm #2 so hopeful!) and late summer/fall shows that haven;t juried yet.

So...share your schedule? Meet old/new friends? I'd love to meet some of the artists I know only through their contributions on this site!

Here is my schedule from my website page:

Hope to meet some new artist-friends this summer!

Hi Bo,

I was at the Madison Audubon show Saturday but didn't have a chance to introduce myself. I saw the Baraboo show on your schedule for August 13 and was wondering if you've ever done it before and what you can tell me about it. I'm looking for a few one or two day local / filler shows that don't cost much, are close to home and can turn a little bit of a profit for me; that is to say, 4X to 6X the booth fee. I guess you could say, sort of like the Audubon event. Would appreciate any help you can provide!

Diana

Did Baraboo last year, first time. Nice, small show run by local art guild. Friendly, helpful group. Nice setting around the courthouse, tree lined sidewalks, though temps were in 90s last year and probably kept the crowd down. Many who did come out were buying, mostly lesser priced items, though I sold a couple of big ticket pieces.

There was some buy/sell, but the Art Guild member I spoke with said they were going to be more selective this year. Lots of area artists. It does seem similar in feel to the Audubon show.

Hope that helps.

Bo

Thanks Bo!
