Any suggestions for how to glue or mount photos to wood or masonite backing. My wife and I do photography and fused glass, we are going to try and incorporate the two by mounting a photo on a hard backing and then placing fused glass pices around the photo for a "frame" effect.
Also, any ideas for what we could use to "coat" the pictures with to provide some kind of protection for them?
thanks,
Dwayne

Coda Mount sells a product that is cold-mount, but it incorporates the backing substrate.
Talas sells many different adhesives, including dry-mount in rolls (Gudy), and roll-on adhesives.
Masonite is not archival, if that matters to you. Using Glamour II will provide a barrier between the substrate and the back of the print, as will Gudy.

I use 3M Photo Mount Spray Adhesive to mount prints on various substrates. While my prints are done in the darkroom, I often use RC paper, which is a plastic coated paper. I would think digital/ink jet prints would mount just as well.
As Jim says, you want to be sure you use an archival material. Masonite is very subject to swelling and shrinking with humidity changes, which can cause your print to pull and wrinkle.
