Great advise Sherri and Larry, hey sherri, Larry and Gary now there's a consistant theme..haha...thanks everyone you've been a great help! and may you all continue to enlighten and brighten the world w/ your photos!
something else I do, Gary, is look at photographers who have won prizes at other shows. You will see that most of them offer a wide variety of subject matter, but their "style" is very consistant (usually...)
as a newbie (again), I ask judges and other artist for feedback a lot and I believe your body of work needs to have a consistant "style". So in my very freshman opinion, I think your waterfall, wildflower and sunset would all be considered "consistant" if shot & edited in a consistant style. If you see some of my pics on my profile, you will see what UNconsistant looks like LOL...I'm all over the place. Since creating my profile I have been working to find my voice and have cleaned up my portfolio that I offer at shows...but for now maybe my rookie mistake will help you!
I think it's more than topics that make it a consistent theme. Maybe the flow of the images or use of color. All of the same topic seems boring to me. Five waterfall pictures doesn't seem interesting but a combination of different natural arches, including a beautiful tree branch covered path mixes well with natural rock arches. It's about having a vision and demonstrating it to the jurors.

One more question???
I've heard that one should keep a consistent theme, with ones images when submitting and/or displaying i.e. Waterfalls, Wildflowers..etc.. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? As I consider myself a 'Nature Photographer', and would think that an image of a waterfall, wildflower, and a sunset would all work well together? or is it better to just submit say all sunset images to the jury?
Thanks Jim, Glad I found this website. Very helpful info from you all!
Format for ZAPP, with black borders as necessary, 1920x1920 pixels, sRGB. Never show the mat or frame in your jury images, just the image itself.
Use the price for the framed work that you will hang on the wall. If you have a 22x28 on the wall, and 16x20's in the bin, use the 22x28 framed price, even if you have 36x48 as well. Keep in mind that the jurors may be looking for an average price of your work, so using the highest priced iteration can work against you.
Thank you Wesley & Sherri for the quick response, any others have any thoughts on this?
I'm a newbie too...so I am interested to see other's comments. But like Wesley, I just upload the digital file (with proper format) and use the higher priced item being offered.
I also enter the largest size, etc. that I will sell that print in. Others may differ.
