Most of the bikers I know are Doctors and Lawyers. How would you present work to them? Give yourself lots of options and "I Ship" might be a good sigh to have at this event.

Permalink Reply by Kathleen Neff on May 31, 2011 at 2:11pm NOT BAD AT ALL! You are movin' right along, Leslie! No more 'newbie' for you...Even 3 1/2 shows takes you out of the category, don't you think? I'm rooting for you to get the full 4 under your belt with grand success. :)

Thank you for the encouragement Kathleen! I'm up to 6 upcoming shows for the Summer so far, not counting Sturgis (which is going to be more like 'busking'). Two of them aren't "juried" shows, just pay your application fee and show up with art, but I'm hitting the canvas like a hurricane, watching oil paint dry and getting the RV ready to go. I'm going to stand pat with the shows that I've been able to get into, as I don't want to 'over-do' it for my first time out. I'm still a 'newbie' yet. I've only done the competition art shows and sales in the past. Lots of ribbons, some prize money and a few sales, but never anything like an art fair. This will be a new experience for me. The events don't start until the end of June, and then it's going to be every other weekend until the end of August. If things go well, I'll venture out of the state of Wyoming next year.
I can't begin to tell you how inspiring and encouraging everyone at this website has been for me! As soon as I start making sales, I'm going to pledge $ for this site to continue. I consider this place to be one of my most valuable tools and well worth the investment!
Permalink Reply by Kathleen Neff on June 1, 2011 at 3:32pm I have to say that a site is as good as it's members make it...and you are a good example of one that is making it good~ It really is tops!
You are going at it just like you planned, it seems to me, wisely and with gusto! You are a show patron's delight when it comes to attitude-and on top of it have great work! Don't forget to get some great sketches of all the places you visit. You may not care whether you get out of Wyoming at all...

I know I'm late to the conversation, but I just wanted to say congrats and how awesome to get into Jackson Hole on your first go. Thanks for the inspiration.
You're right, this is a great place...I've spent hours reading through everything. But, I think it's time to paint.
Knock'm dead in Jackson!
