Wind and glass do not mix well. When it gets windy, I end up taking work off displays that are elevated and get them down on my tables. Even with side walls up, the wind is destructive. What do you do when it gets windy? Am I the only one with this 'paranoia'?  I did have a major topple of work about 3 yrs ago. I think I am scarred for life.

I thought the glass displays on risers and on the gridwalls looked nice. I am a natural born clutter person in my own displays. I use stand alone grid walls to attach shelves behind my tables. However, with an outdoor display, I do not always use them due to wind. I experienced a crashing loss several years ago. Therefore, I often use plexiglass risers to create levels on the tables, outside and somewhat inside. My display is in my top five of problems and have spent toooo much $$ on trying to get it right. I would love it if people could send in photos of their displays.

Sorry that you are not able to see my posting, I am obviously doing something wrong. I just want to say thanks to all who commented and offered advice. I appreciate the time you took from this hectic pace of the holiday season. Hopefully this will get out to all of you.

Does anyone on here need to purchase blank (un-etched) glassware?  Due to a chronic illness and family needs, I am scaling my business way back.  I hesitate to sell all my display stuff as I have it so nicely the way that I want it, but may have to sell it in the future.  It is hard to let go of this.

So, if you are in need...  contact me at amy@happymagpie.com and I will make a good deal for you.

I cannot find Mark's post on here either.  Mark, are you planning to hang any of your glass on the panels that you were going to look into or was it simply for stopping the sidewalls from flapping?  I would ask, why are you using the sidewalls?   They block out the light which helps the glass to shine.

I do display some 2d art, so I attach gridwalls to two sides of my booth.  These are sturdy and heavy and my booth does not move like other peoples' do.

Good luck on finding the right solution for you.

Mark, I couldn't find your post for some reason after reading of your troubles in an email.  I have successfully and happily used 'Abstracta' to display my work for several years.  It is amazingly versatile and steady in the wind.  I actually have not lost a piece since I started using it (at least from the display's fault) since I started using it. While it is quite expensive to buy new, it can be found by doing national searches on Craigslist for fairly cheap.  Feel free to comment or email at YggdrasillGlass@gmail.com with any questions.

Love and Light,

Jonathan
