zapp offline?

I have an application due today, which (of course) I waited until the last minute to finish up. Went online and can't get to zapp. It just says the webpage is not available. Is anyone else having this problem? Procrastination does not pay!

  • Here's the latest update from Zapp:

    Dear artists,

We are writing to let you know that the periodic disruptions to zapplication.org experienced by some users during the last few days have been resolved.

As of 4 p.m. MDT on Sunday, April 15, the issue was addressed and both administrators and artists had restored accessibility to all functions on our sites.

    What Happened?
Last week, we conducted routine maintenance to enhance security for your data. While doing so increased our security, it also, unfortunately, increased the workload of our servers. To fix this, we moved our servers to new generation hardware so they can better handle our website traffic.

System reliability and security are our top priorities, and we thank you for your patience while our team works to advance these offerings. Please note that we have monitoring in place to perform site checks every 60 seconds so we are made aware if any part of the site is under-performing. As we continue working toward making your experience a better one, we encourage you to reach out to us if you notice any issues with either the admin or artist sides of ZAPP.

All administrators have been notified of the disruptions to the ZAPP service. If you need to contact show administrators directly, you can find event contact information on zapplication.org when viewing their application. If you need assistance navigating the site or submitting an application, please reach out to artist support, and we would be happy to assist you.

  • The message from Zapp:

    Dear artists,

We are writing to make you aware of an issue currently affecting the ZAPP system.

Our servers are experiencing intermittent connectivity issues. As a result, you may notice brief, periodic disruptions to your zapplication.org access. This issue is notimpacting any of your data; your data remains secure and intact.

To address these issues, the sites will go OFFLINE for additional maintenance starting at midnight Mountain Daylight Time, tonight. The sites will be inaccessible for approximately one hour.

Please know we are committed to providing you with reliable service, and we are working swiftly to address these issues. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

    Sincerely,
    The ZAPP team

  • It appears to be back up for now. I wasn't applying to a show however but I was able to log in, a few minutes ago. I received the same email and couldn't log in earlier.

    • I couldn't get on earlier, but just did now.

  • Everyone received an e-mail from zapp stating that they were having server problems and were going to shut the site down for an hour tonight at midnight. Should be OK tomorrow. Shows will have to extend their deadlines if they were scheduled to close today.

    • ok good to know. I looked through my emails for one of those, but did not find one. I'm really glad to hear that shows have to extend the deadline, but now I've learned my lesson- I'm sure I'll learn it again at some point :)

      • I'd e-mail the shows you intend to apply to and let them know zapp is down until tomorrow morning and you can't apply.

        Larry Berman

        • that is a great idea, thank you so much! Also, now when I try the site, it says something about scheduled maintenance until 10 am April 11th...hmm did they get their dates wrong?

      • When you can log in again, make sure your e-mail preferences are to receive everything they send out.
