I have always believed that for that 30$ jury fee, the least the show promoter could do was scribble our score and the cut off score on our dejection letters. That way we could make intelligent choices as to whether we were close enough to make it worthwhile to try again...

  • I'm with Robert on this. Well, sort of. I'm not even interested in asking for my scores, because I don't know how they'll help me in the future. Next year, the same show will have different judges. A different show has other different judges. Every show has a different number of judges and not all use the same point system or even the same evaluation system. I think that asking for points is a waste of my time and theirs.

  • The reason why shows don't provide jury scores is because you won't get artists together and demand it. You want something? Make it happen.

    • i used to request them from every show i got dejected from, nobody ever answered my inquiry. Finally gave up after 20 years....

      • Heh, I just started asking this year how close I was to the cutoff. Scores don't mean much since you could have a few at the high end and a few at the bottom end, and if you're in the middle of the pack you could still be far down on the list. I'm asking if I'm close to the cutoff or way out of contention. No answers so far, and it sounds like I better not hold my breath waiting.

        • well, as Barry Bernstein said, let's make this happen! Any ideas other than deluging them all with requests?

  • I feel we pay to get juried, so they should provide at least SOME feedback!
  • Totally agree! Show promoters do not realize that we do this for a living and those jury fees add up. I have had a show that has wait listed me for four years. I have no idea if this is their way of rejecting me or if I am truly close to getting in.
