Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals
We got a lot of comments last week when Connie posted some of my website review videos, so here's another one.
Watch this short new website review video to see my e-commerce redesign strategy tips for increasing sales online at SiouxPottery.com.
Their Native American pottery site is pretty - but maybe too pretty! Watch to see why I think it's hurting their sales...
Hopefully these tips are helpful to other artists here at ArtFairInsiders.com.
If you like the web design strategy tips in these videos we can keep sharing them here, or subscribe to my free YouTube channel here.
Best,
Scott Fox

SiouxPottery.com now looks like.... wait for it.... a store!!
They are still in the early stages of making many of the changes I recommended but I'm sure this will help them sell more work online.

Permalink Reply by Jennifer Donald on December 27, 2011 at 8:24am Hi Scott.
I really appreciate that you posted this video. It REALLY got me thinking. Now, I admit that my site is a FAR CRY from good, BUT- after seeing this, I realized how much I had limited myself and yep... there was no call to action.
I made some tweaks (ok, a LOT of tweaks) and sure enough, I am looking at stats RIGHT NOW that show visitors in 2 states both spent more time on my site AND used the "new" "Order Prints Now" links. I still have a long way to go, but I'm definitely seeing some progress and action.
Thanks for the great tips.
Permalink Reply by Scott Fox on January 3, 2012 at 7:43pm That's great to hear, Jennifer!
Thanks for posting this followup. It's always nice to hear success stories.
I hope that the changes I recommended continue to pay off for you.
Those are 2 of the nice things about websites.
Yes, they can be a pain to setup, but if you do it correctly then:
a) You can see the progress reflected in your traffic reports almost immediately, and
b) the site can continue to attract customers (and new orders!) while you're busy elsewhere.
Please keep us posted and let me know if I can help further.
Best,
Scott
