Art Fair Insiders

Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals

This is my first year doing shows. I've been told it wasn't the best year to start. So far I am breaking even, so I can't coplain too much. However, a little profit wouldn't hurt. I am a photographer living just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Aside from Three Rivers, does anyone know the best shows where photos sell well in the PA, OH, WV, NY area?

Thanks,

Don

I'm also a Pittsburgh photographer and have been doing art shows over 30 years.

Besides Three Rivers, Howard Alan Shadyside and Fair in the Park in Mellon Park. That's the most local. There are a few decent shows in the Cleveland Area. Boston Mills, Cain Park etc. Columbus is only a three and a half hour drive.

Feel free to call me if you want more specific information.

I am also from Pittsburgh and do jewelry.  I agree with Larry that Shadyside, 3 Rivers and Fair in the Park are the upscale shows for Pittsburgh.  I will also apply to Mt Gretna, Pa Craftsman's Guild shows, Central Pa Arts Festival in State College well as some Paragon and Howard Alan shows.  I am also trying Sugarloaf shows this spring.
