Possible scam from Greece?

Hi Everyone,

I received an email this morning from a woman in Santorini, Cyclades Islands by the name of Karen Fischer.  The body of the letter is as follows:

I have been waiting and still haven't receive a response from you. I sent you a message inquiring about your works but yet to receive a response.

Could you advise back if you ship to Cyclades Islands and In regards to payment, Do you accept either Paypal or Master card ?

Will await your timely response.

Sincerely.

I very much suspect a scam here for several reasons:  There was no mention of any particular piece she wanted to buy; no request for prices (these always come before the request to purchase); and I did not receive the previous email she mentions (it could have gone into spam and I deleted it the first time).

So, I'm just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar email from this woman or someone in the same geographic area.

Thanks!

  • We get these types of emails all the time. Every one is deleted.

  • It's always a scam. Then they overpay you and expect you to give them money back but then the credit card bounces because it was stolen overseas and or the paypal deposit was phony.
