Hello everyone,

First, I want to say thank you to everyone who posts on this site!  I have learned so much and I hope to contribute more when I start doing larger shows.  For the past 2 years I have only done a few local small shows because........you guessed it, I don't have the elusive booth shot!  So, this summer, I made it a priority to polish my booth decorating and take the shot.  I realize I still have a ways to go and would like to get some curtains, remove the wrinkles, and hang large images on the white walls.  With that being said, please let me know what you think both the good and bad, but especially the bad.  Thanks!

Mary

  • I really like the blue. It accents the background in your earring displays and adds a pop of elegance to black and white. Perfect touch.

  • You need more levels. Get some small risers in different heights to set some of your busts on. The blue is okay, but the way it stops on the tabletop is jarring. A banner with blue in it would pull the blue up. You have a great start, just keep going.

  • I was in retail at one time and what we learned is if the client has to bend over at all they will NOT buy. Why? Some people can't see it if it is not up higher and they walk away. If you bend over to look at something at an art show 100 times and your pocket book falls off your shoulder it makes some people crazy. Raise the tables or raise the great looking jewelry with boxes, old luggage or glass. You have a good eye for space and levels good job. Again not trying to be negative just trying to help. The large framed pictures of your work is good tip also, brings them in like bees to honey.

  • I read that some people thought the blue was distracting. What if you added a blue horizontal narrow banner around the top of the canopy walls to tie the design together. But no matter what, take the wrinkles out for the picture.

  • For the actual booth shot, most jurors just want to make sure that you have a professional looking display and product to fill it.  Which you certainly have.  Definitely add some large pictures of some of your pieces as soon as you can.  That is going to be what draws the customers to your booth.

  • I think this shot will put you well on your way!  Good work!
