Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals

I just had my pics redone and would like feedback. They are the new ones with the rich dark brown background. I am hoping for better results! http://www.artfairinsiders.com/photo/photo/listForContributor?scree...

I can't tell much about the separation without seeing the full size images. But I can suggest better cropping on the bracelets and if you lay out the necklace in a more circular fashion, the image will appear larger and stronger in a jury because the closer you get to square, the larger it appears.

Thanks for the info. Also thanks for reminding me about the sRGB profile. Is the one that is imbeded in Photoshop ok?
Hi Robin, I have found when I was in college studying my art we were bombarded with the fact that you had to use a neutral light gray background. I have had mine done on black background and I liked it. When I am entering a very important event I do resort back to my basics of; fill the frame. no shadows, no reflective lights, gray neutral background etc. But personally I like the brown you chose.
Thanks! That was the photographers idea. And when I looked at it , I really felt it brought the silver to life, having a color behind it made it look silver - not just another shade of gray. When I have always done it in the past I used white, grey or black, and it looked like a black and white.

I guess my initial critique was your older pictures because the newer ones hadn't been uploaded yet.

The arrangements are good. The only critique I would have is that the background should be photo seamless paper so there would be no texture. Background texture does two things that work against anyone who has texture behind the work. It can create a visual distraction by having something there that can possibly draw your eyes. And it artificially inflates the file size.

JPEG file size is based on the amount of detail in an image. When you're optimizing an image to hit a target file size (ZAPP formally was 1.8 megabytes but you can upload an image up to but just under 2 megabytes) the less detail in an image, the higher quality that image will be at a fixed file size.

I think they look very nice. The only thing I question, upon first glance is some necklaces look like they could be bracelets and couldn't tell if some are pendants or earrings. Does this make sense? Regardless your jewelry is very beautiful and more unique than ones I see in shows in my area.
