Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals
This may be an odd question, but I'd love to hear people's responses. If you could only do 1 show this year (let's assume you would get in no problem), which would it be. Why, etc., and doesn't matter if you've never done it before....
For me, living in Canada, I would pray to be able to do the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition again. The crowds were amazing, people were absolutely there to buy art, and no quibbling about prices. Also, after having a great show, there was so much unique art that I've not seen before to consider purchasing. Another huge plus is that this show is only $350.......a bargain price compared to some of the other shows in Toronto.
So.....anyone else? Doesn't matter where the show is.....we might find about shows we never knew about, etc. Also, might find out about an advantage that we never considered...
Looking forward to hearing from you.....

I've walked through it several times and I would love to be able to show at it. My first year applying to shows I applied to this one. I had no idea it was as competative as it is! The booth fee is no bargin, but since it's local that and material costs would be all I would have to cover. Also I know quite a few people that attend that show.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Permalink Reply by Larry Berman on January 12, 2012 at 12:52pm This was supposed to be a light, fun question.....fantasy show....I don't care if it's on the moon:) I know nothing about US shows, but I still would be interested to hear which ONE you would choose out of the ones you listed, which I assume are all considered good shows.

Permalink Reply by Larry Berman on January 12, 2012 at 4:50pm I guess after visiting the St Louis show last year it would be my first choice of the three I listed.

You accomplished what I thought was impossible: Larry committing to his first choice of shows! LOL
:_).

Permalink Reply by Barry Bernstein on January 24, 2012 at 5:53pm For me it's a no brainer except I would pick 2 shows, the Philadelphia Museum Show and the Smithsonian Show. By far it has the best work and the most knowledgeable clientele.
I was waiting to hear someone say Smithsonian:) I would even love to go visit!
