  • This area of Florida wasn't too badly hit. If it is this winter I'd not be concerned about the hurricane affecting sales. After Hurricane Andrew which badly damaged areas around Miami we did the Coconut Grove Show and it was a blockbuster. Why? Because everyone had money. Those who had property damage had insurance checks to spend; contractors of all kinds also had a booming year rebuilding. The hotel and motel people in the area had money because the out of state contractors, linesmen, power company people were staying in the hotels ... Boca is far enough away in time, Natalie, that I think I wouldn't worry about what happened there last week.

    • Thank you. Just what I wanted to hear.

      • Hi.  Any thoughts about how FL west coast (Ft. Myers, Naples, etc.) shows will be in Feb, 2018?  Thinking of returning, but now I'm not so sure.  Any input will be appreciated.  Thank you.

        • I'll see what I can dig up, Melanie.

          • Thanks so much!

            • I'm digging it up, Melanie and will be hosting a podcast Friday morning 9/22 with show directors in Florida and Texas to talk about the storm and its impact on their festivals.

Here is the link for you to listen at that time, or later, whichever works for you: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/artfairs/2017/09/22/after-the-hurrican...

              • Fantastic.  It will be very interesting to say the least.  I will definitely tune in and hope everyone else will also.  Thank you so much.

  • Thank you for the suggestion though.
  • This show has not been relocated or rescheduled.
  • I would imagine any shows scheduled for this fall are being cut. It will take months for Florida's infrastructure to come back. However I could be wrong. Check with individual promoters to see if they have relocated / rescheduled he show.
