Has anyone done Butchertown in Louisville?

I'm thinking about applying to this show.  It is apparently run by a neighborhood association.  I know St. James is in Louisville in October, so they must have some kind of a market there.  This show is in June.  From my research the neighborhood appears to be eclectic with lots of young professionals from what I can tell.

    Sandy and Robert, we will have to meet.  I'm in also, and I just paid my booth fee so I'm committed.

      You are right; I love to meet artists in person that I have met on this forum. I will look for you, unless of course I am so busy with customers waiting to buy my great jewelry that I simply can't get out of my booth, which is totally what I am expecting. And in that case we can always meet after for dinner and a drink!

    Hi  Roxanne , I did the Butchertown show last year. My booth was at the far end and I didn't get near the traffic other people did, but had about 1300 in sales. A good friend of mine makes very nice beaded bracelets and only sold like 300. I make mostly rings and do well with buzzed women. ( Is that wrong?)

    It's just gone from a one day show to a two day show last year. I think it is a nice up and coming neighborhood show.

    I've been looking for smaller close to home shows to fill in my rejects! ;-)  Do you know anything about Founders Day in Charlestown, IN, June 20th and 21st?

      Thanks!  I think women always like rings!  I'm doing the same thing.  So far I'm 0-2 with one waitlist.  :(

      I am keeping a spreadsheet of shows I'm looking at, but I don't think I've heard of that one.  If it's Founders Day though, that sounds more like a regular festival type thing than an art show.  I don't do so well at festivals, so I try to stay away from them.

    It's the week before Talbott Street in Indianapolis. I have relatives and friends in Louisville, but I've not heard of this one. I'll ask around and find out. It's not terribly far from the Mellwood show which is an overblown hype. The Butchertown section of town is going through a growth phase with young professionals and student types moving to the area. If time permits and the reports are okay, I'll give it a shot. I'll keep you posted.
