I've got a Trimline with the mesh walls, and while I love their convenience and the airflow, I really don't like the white. I need my pieces to pop more, as they're mixed media with mostly watercolor backgrounds.  The black softwalls they offer are too severe, and I can't make a major investment right now in propanels or something like that.

I'd like to see if there's a way to cover the mesh walls with a heavy duty gray fabric or something like that... has anyone tried this?  Or even putting something behind the walls to at least get rid of the brightness of the white canopy walls.  I just don't want it to look cheesy or flimsy.

  • Your mileage may vary, but for several years I used 60"x84" tablecloths hung in front of my mesh walls. Got 'em at Wal-Mart for $10 each. Two hung side-by-side from the short end covers a 10' mesh wall with a tiny amount of overlap.  I secured them with drapery hooks in strategic locations to keep them from flapping around in a breeze.  I hung them either from the top frame rail of my Trimline with small clamps, or from the top of the mesh walls with small spring-type paper clips.  Clamps work better, and they can be rotated over the top rail to the back of the wall so they're nearly invisible.  Won a ribbon for best booth design once using this setup, so I guess it was okay.

As an aside, I got what had to be the last or nearly the last set of Flourish ProGallery Covers sold this past April.  A couple of weeks after they arrived, the artist next door at Magic City in B'ham said he'd just tried to buy some & they had been discontinued.  I nearly choked as I had been planning to buy some additional pieces later.  But, Flourish being Flourish, they accommodated & got me what I needed w/ zero problems.

Its a shame the Pro Gallery covers are not available now, because they're great.

  • Flourish, which made my mesh panels, has lots of coverings in different colors. I've tried burgundy and sage and gray. I have one gray wall now and think I will get three others for next year. Here's a photo. The gray wall is on the back.

    • Thanks, Carrie,

How do you have that attached?  Flourish said the company that used to make the ones for their mesh walls, complete with the velcro and straps that fit for them, doesn't make them anymore. They offered the ones that are like slipcovers for the Graphic Display Systems, but I don't see any wall-length ones.  I suppose I could just hang something in front of the mesh and maybe attach a strip of velcro to wrap around.

  • I've seen the trimline mesh panels covered with burlap that looked really nice. They were wrapped around and sewn on to the mesh panels. Burlap is inexpensive and the ones i saw were light brown but i remember the person that had them mentioning that many colors were available.

You might also be able to dye the mesh panels a different color
