Has anyone ever done the Fort Meyer's Beach Lover's Key Arts and Crafts Show? The promoter is MY Promotions. She seemed very nice when I talked to her and I am thinking about doing the show,...but I would appreciate any help...this is my first winter to do Florida shows.

Thanks, Cheryl

  • Thanks Geoff for the help!

I will send you a message to find out your suggestions for shows. (I'm hoping that is what you meant by email?)

    • Yep, got your message and responded.  :-)

      • So you dont recommend Lovers Key? I have just wriiten my check but have not sent it

        • Hi Marielena. That's a personal decision based on your product, price points, the costs you would have to get to the show and find lodging, and so forth.  I don't know any of those things and, as I said, I have not done the show myself so I do not feel it appropriate to make an individual recommendation.  I'm sorry that no AFI members have provided first-hand information, but if you need more  I'm sure the promoter would be happy to talk with you before you send a check.

  • Hi Cheryl, I don't think I've seen anyone ask about this show before.  I've never exhibited there but I live in S. Fort Myers and kayak/photograph frequently at Lover's Key, so I've driven past it a few times and stopped in once or twice.

It's a very low-end show and very informal.  I can't remember the exact location of the show, but I'm pretty sure it's in a sand/dirt, unpaved "parking lot" and grassy area that's basically a wide pull-off to the back bay.  Lots of traffic driving by in season, and some of it will stop and come over to see what's going on. I remember seeing it advertised in the "Things to Do" section of the local paper (Fort Myers News-Press).  I wasn't doing shows the last time that I visited so I don't have much meaningful recollection of the product mix or how much might have been "buy/sell", but I seem to remember rug art, cheap jewelry, metaphysical fare, that kind of thing.  Judging from your photo, I think you're 'way outta their league.

If you're looking to fill a few gaps in your schedule feel free to email me through the AFI site and I'll give you a suggestion or two.
