I am a mixed media jeweler. When I lay my pieces on a light table or even suspending them I do not get good results when taking pictures. Does anyone have success with using either a neck form or a women's neck or wrist when taking a photo for jury? My pieces just do not look good laying flat.

I do a lot of jewelry photography. To remain competitive there should be nothing in the image to distract the jurors. The piece should be displayed on a background that is neutral in color without texture and cropped to within approximately 80% - 90% of the frame. If you use a model or form, they still need to be cropped so the jurors aren't distracted by the model and/or don't realize the piece is being photographed on a form.
