Digital Art Signature

I've read the discussions on signing the mat or the art, but I haven't seen anything about digital illustration.  I print my pieces, so I can add my signature to the piece before printing.  Might that be a good thing or a bad thing.  Maybe print with the signature and personally sign the mat or the white space at the bottom of the print?  Not sure of the best approach to this one.

Thanks,

Matt

  • Good to know, thanks.

  • I always sign + limited edition number on the back of the print and sign the mat with the same. That way if they re-mat the print will always be signed.

  • I use both with a slight twist. For the digital signature I use my

web address in the lower corner. Then I sign the mat with my name.

This way if somebody removes my photo from the mat, my web

address is still on the photo...unless they cut the photo :)
