buying better tent outer walls

Hi everyone, i've seen some talk about outer protective walls, but it's not answering my question.

My existing walls are like heavy tarps. They do not fold up well, requiring too much space in my vehicle,  and every bit of dust and dirt seem to stick to them, making ME dirty everytime I use them. The Velcro straps are poor quality and don't always stick together.

I have seen walls that are more like fabric, fold down to a small size, that I've been told hold up well to weather.

Can you tell me the name brand of your walls that would fall into this category? Can you tell me the pros and cons of different styles? Are they all universal and can be interchanged with different canopy brands? What are the different types of attachment hardware that I have to be aware of?

(For the record I have a C100 Quik Shade Canopy and walls)

Thanks a bunch!

  • It seems that the more expensive and heavier duty the canopy , the heavier the walls will be. I just got tired of it after 30 years.  I bought a Eurmax canopy, including sides, in 2017 for about $200. I absolutely love the light weight walls which easily fit in a small back pack.   They also  install and remove quite easily and quickly and work nicely as an awning using PVC support struts. . It has been great in rather heavy rain storms.   My old reliable heavy duty Craft Hut and Lite Dome canopies haven't been used since. I don't care if the Eurmax cant with stand a hurricane.  Ill just buy a new one for $200.

  • Your sides depend on the style of tent you have because they attach differently depending on the tent.  Creative Energies, the makers of Light Dome tents sells their sides separately and they also have a section on their website for sides for other brand tents.  You may want to start there.
