booth Rug

I'm looking for a booth rug, preferably recycled plastic and I'm not having the easiest time finding a 10x10'.  if you have one in your booth is yours 10'x10'? about how much does it weigh and where did you get it?
Or would a 8'6x8'6 look  horrible? I"m trying to envision how it would look, only like 8" on either side, i think it would look okay? looking for some advice on that topic.  I've been doing shows with an EZ up and not really spending the extra time on really going above and beyond on my booth appearance and I'm looking to upgrade the tent, get a rug,  add maybe a little beach chair (i do Ocean themed art)
all advice would be appreciated
Thanks!

  • Hi Megan,

You're right, 10 x 10 rugs are hard to find.  We finally just went to Home Depot and got a large piece of carpet (indoor/outdoor) then took it to someone to bind the edges.  Works great and goes all the way to the edge, which was needed in our case as we use pedestals for display. The carpet came was 12' wide so the carpet binder person cut it down for us.  It's a very lightweight rug and I think it comes in blue or green as well, which may go well with your ocean :-)

    • I also use the indoor / outdoor carpet from Lowes or Home Depot.  It comes in a gray that matches my pro panels.  It is 10.5 x 10.5 so it just fits under my tent poles and if I am on pavement I duct tape the front edge.  It does hold water badly if it gets wet and I have thought of one of the plastic ones but I'm concerned that people might trip on the edges.

      • I duct tape my front edge down, even on grass.

  • I am repurposing a woven rattan like rug purchased at pier one years ago but ditched from the great room due to a hole, but it works just right in front of my tables to near front of tent. I work in fabric and it so helps keep the dust off my things.
There are many plastic woven rugs, and since summer is winding up keep an eye on clearance at like target or others. Mine rolls up and I have no issues getting it in our SUV. It is perhaps a 5 x 7 foot maybe a bit larger
  • I use a 8x6 RV mat, plastic, lightweight and it doesn't hold water so I can pack it up in the rain.  I have shelves around my booth so it gives a "living room" look without going to the edges.  Think of it like an area rug rather than carpeting
