Hi all,
At the end of last season, my light dome canopy was not behaving properly. The sides went together fine but when I put the top poles in one would always pop out. I am assuming that something is bent but since I am not very mechanical, I'm having a problem figuring this out. If I could get the canvas on without the whole thing falling apart, the top seemed to stay but it worried me the whole show. Can anyone surmise what the problem is? Show season is about to start and I have to figure this out or go back to using the EZ up. Thanks

They are probably popping out when your raise the dome unevenly. I had a similar issue and drilled holes through the poles which allow me to put a bolt and wing nut through the joined poles.
Light Dome should really have those spring clips on the poles. This also allowed me to hang art from the top bolts which have eye hooks. I have the modified tent for sale. You will see the art hanging from the top.
I also added a few holes on the lower legs which makes it far easier to raise the tent alone. I walk around the tent raising it in 10" increments and put a nail in the hole as I walk around raising each leg. Less stress on you and the poles.
Roof. Attach weigh clip webbing straps to two corners of the roof and just pull it over the top. Too bad I'm selling my set up after I worked out some of the bugs.

Hi John, There's another way and it's just as effective. Radiator hose clamps on the lower section of each leg. Raise the leg and hose clamp tightening it working your way around the tent. You can raise the legs to a comfortable height and all you need is a small screwdriver. The hose clamps can be left on the legs permanently.
I'm going to be writing an article on that and other Light Dome customizations I've been working on.
Often times this is a result of the tent frame not being set up on level ground. It is not necessarily a result of bent components. Try setting it up somewhere level and see if the problem persists.

Here's a tip an artist shared with me when I was having the same problem. Don't fully tighten the screw on the top of the roof until all the poles are in their sleeves.
