I have done the Breckenridge show for many years but two years ago there was no crowd and everyone did very badly. I wondered how it went for people last year? I did not do it last year. Two years ago it was just a local crowd and the vacationing Texans who spend money were not there. Please let me know how it went last year?

  • I have a friend that did them the last few years. I even went and visited during the show in 2013. Like you said, not huge crowds. Held in a shopping center that is struggling to maintain businesses.

My artist friend said that his neighbors selling oil paintings did well. They have been going to the show for a number of years so they have a little following, and are aggressive sellers. As you can expect, a few did awesome, and others had trouble making fees.

I think my friend covered his expenses at the show and made money a couple months later after receiving an email from a Houstonian that saw him there and was ready to buy.

    • Just out of curiosity, what is an "aggressive seller"? My alleged mind has all kinds of scenarios and none of them are neighborly.

      • A little overly excited about their work, always letting people know that stuff sells fast, and that it might not be there when they return. They where good at instilling a "fear" that whatever you like will most likely be gone when the customer returns hours later.
